Premier's Reading Challenge 2008

Premier's Reading Challenge

For students

Getting started

  1. Tell your teacher you have accepted the Challenge
If your school hasn't already registered for the Challenge, ask your teacher to register for it

  2. Start reading
Remember you need to read at least ten books between 22 June and 28 August

  3. Fill in your reading log
Make sure you have your own reading log and know how to fill it out. Ask an adult to sign the log each time you finish reading a book. If you lose your reading log you can print a new one [PDF 2MB].

  4. Don't forget that the books you read for the Premier's Reading Challenge can also be counted towards the MS Readathon and all other school reading programs

Completing the Challenge

  1. Once you've read ten books, return your reading log to your teacher by 28 August 2009

  2. You'll receive your official certificate in third term

Have fun and be rewarded

Complete the Challenge and you will:

  • go into the draw to win an iPod and audio book voucher - there are 3 to be won

  • receive a special 2009 Premier's Reading Challenge certificate

  • have the chance to attend an official celebration to mark the end of the Challenge

Hints

  1. Your teachers and librarians can help you choose books to read

  2. If you are just beginning to read you can share reading with an adult

  3. Challenge yourself! Read widely and don't be afraid to try books by writers you are not familiar with

  4. Remember: reading is fun!
